Florida Birding – It’s That Time!

The temperature is perfect here in Florida for birding, I just wish we had a little more…

early morning sun and less haze!

But a little haze does not stop us from going to our favorite birding places to see what is there.  With birds it is always the luck of the day!   You never know if there will be thousands or 2!    I went to Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge back in Jan 2009 and that day there were thousands of ducks and shorebirds in the park & the water was as smooth as glass.  I have been back just about every year since and have never seen that many birds again.   A couple of friends and I made the trek over to the east coast yesterday and there were a fair number of birds and species!   The light was only good for about 45 minutes and then the clouds rolled in.   We did get some  good images but it is very difficult when the light is low and the birds are relatively far away!

We hit another good bird area today, Fort De Soto Park, North Beach.   It was another cloudy morning and there were only a few birds in the area but again I made a few images.

Winter time is definitely birding time in Florida
That is all for now!
